FAQs – Payment
When a tradesperson creates a job on the PongoPay app, a link will automatically be sent to the homeowner allowing them to accept and pay for the work using their phone. This payment will be securely held in the virtual Safe Deposit Box until the work is complete, at which point the homeowner can ‘release’ the payment on the PongoPay app. Once released, the money will be paid directly into the tradesperson’s bank account.
The virtual Safe Deposit Box is operated by our CSSF Registered and FCA Authorised commercial partners MANGOPay which means your payment is protected at every stage of the process.
We process payouts twice a day (at 10am and 4pm UK time). Once released, it can take up to one business day for a payment to reach your bank account.
Yes, all jobs created on PongoPay can be divided into payment stages. Payment will only be taken for each stage once the previous stage has been completed.
